PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photosensitive material having high sensitivity, slight residual color after processing and superior shelf stability and to provide a processing method for the material. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photosensitive material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on the base, a hydrazine derivative is not contained and the silver halide emulsion has been spectrally sensitized with a sensitizing dye, >=0.1 wt.% of which is dissolved in water, and contains at least one hydroquinone derivative substituted by a sulfonic acid group and at least one amine compound.
