PURPOSE: Support structure of a shield for a helmet is provided to prevent the unintentional secession of the shield from the helmet even in case of collision as well as secure a sufficient shock absorbing property, a good wearing feeling and the like. CONSTITUTION: In the support structure of a shield(2) for a helmet forming a certain external portion in which the outer surface of the shield substantially coincides with the outer surface of a helmet body(1), firstly, the shield is adapted to be moved back and forth in accordance with horizontal reciprocating movements of a support shaft(11L), and secondly, in case of vertical rotation of the shield, the shield can be extruded or retracted from or into a stepped portion(3) owing to vertical reciprocating movements of the shield along a slope(5L).
