PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method concerned with the prevention of card copying crimes and capable of securing a security function for the whole card media such as magnetic cards, IC cards and optical IC hybrid cards. SOLUTION: A card medium reader/writer 2 requests light reflection factor measuring position information acquired at the end of a preceding normal transaction with respect to a card medium certification device 1, and after receiving the information, a light reflection factor measuring processing part 24 measures the light reflection factor of the specified measuring position of a card medium 3 by using an optical system processing part 21. The light reflection factor measured on the basis of the preceding light reflection factor measuring position information is compared with the light reflection factor of the preceding light reflection factor measuring position recorded in a card medium certification device 1 to certify the card medium 3. At the time of certifying that the card medium 3 is a normal card, the light reflection factor of the light reflection factor measuring position based on current transaction information is measured and recorded in the device 1 as history information. |
