PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunctions due to setting changes of a data processing apparatus connected to outside via a USB. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a command inputting means to input a setting change command for a command of a setting change and to input a changing stop command for a stopping of the setting change, a notifying means to notify inputting of the change command for a predetermined time, and a setting change means to stop the setting change when the stop command is inputted during a notifying with the notifying means and to perform the setting change when the stop command is not inputted.
