PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine necessity of an charging processing precisely and surely, and then execute processing. SOLUTION: In this road charging system, a road 22 is divided into a charging area 24 by a boundary line 23, and charging is executed to an entering vehicle entering the charging area 24 across the boundary line 23. In the system, the traveling direction of the vehicle is recognized based on image information by a camera 7 and a retreating camera 51, and the charging processing and charging stop processing are determined according to the traveling direction, to thereby determine the necessity of the charging processing precisely and surely and to execute the charging processing and the charging stop processing.
