PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential amplifier having a reduced distortion over a wide input voltage range. SOLUTION: The differential amplifier comprises a constant-current source having current sources I1, I2, I5 and I6, a differential amplifying unit having BPTQ1, BPTQ2 and a resistor R2, and a current mirror. In this case, current values of the newly added sources I5 and I6 are set to a current value of m times as large as the values of the sources I1 and I2. Thus, as compared with the case having only the sources I1 and I2, its maximum input amplitude Vmax can be increased to (m+1) times.
