PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display surrounded by a prism band is provided to allow a user to easily recognize a receiving state of his cellular phone even in a dark place by forming a prism band around a display area of the cellular phone. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display surrounded by a prism band(22) includes a display area(10) for displaying character information, and a region surrounding the display area. The prism band is placed at the region surrounding the display area. The prism band is set at the left and right sides of the display area, top and bottom of the display area or left, right, top and bottom of the display area. The prism band has refractivity of 1, less than 1 or more than 1.
