PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic suspension device that can generate a high thrust force/damping force. SOLUTION: A longitudinal shaped member 4A is slidably supported by a first and a second guide members 10A, 11, and the first guide member 10A is composed of an interior member 23 which stands erect on a bottom part 2 of an outer casing member 3 and a tip portion of which is inserted slidably into a bore 25 of a first tube part 20 of the longitudinal shaped member and a sliding part 24 of the first guide member provided in the first tube part 20 of the longitudinal shaped member. The longitudinal shaped member 4A is slidably supported by the interior member 23 inserted in the bore 25 of the first tube part 20 of the longitudinal shaped member and the second guide member 11, and the first guide member main body to be arranged in an air space (air gap) between a magnetic member 7 and the outer casing member 3 which is necessitated in the prior art is removed allowing the air gap to be reduced, thereby flux density to pass a coil 6 is improved, and furthermore improvement of vibration suppression performance can be achieved. Size reduction of a driving device and low power consumption can be attained.
