<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating applicator capable of applying a coating material or a liquid chemical on a prescribed region of a linear body to be coated with excellent controllability. SOLUTION: The applicator 40 has two pieces of holding bodies 42, a 1st driving mechanism 44 for making the holding bodies nearer to/away from each other, a carriage 46 moving back and forth from/to the body to be coated by mounting the holding bodies 42 and the first driving mechanism 44 thereon, a 2nd driving mechanism 48 for moving the carriage 46 back and forth, an interlock mechanism 50 for interlocking the 1st driving mechanism 44 with the 2nd driving mechanism 48, and a liquid chemical supply device 52 for supplying a prescribed quantity of the liquid chemical between tip parts 56 when the tip parts 56 are in contact with each other. Each holding body is provided with the tip part, then the tip parts approach each other to be freely nearer to/away from each other to make the tip parts in contact with each other, thereby inserting the linear body to be coated between the tip parts. When the carriage 46 is located at a 1st position, the tip parts are brought into contact with each other, and the prescribed quantity of the liquid chemical is supplied between the tip parts in contact with each other from the liquid chemical supply device 52, when the carriage 56 is advanced to a 2nd position, the tip parts are made away/from each other, and when the carriage is advanced to a 3rd position, the tip parts are made nearer to each other to hold the body to be coated.</p> |
