A source of current is split into partial sources of current to feed coil sections of an actuator. Electrical energy required is removed from a capacitor battery that is charged from a source of DC current in the pauses between movement routines that work in a 4th quadrant operation as pulse choppers with a pulse frequency in the range of some hundred kHz. Independent claims are also included for a partial source of current, for control of a path/time regime for one of the partial sources of current and for synchronization of the partial sources of current.
