The invention relates to the manufacture of furniture, particularly to joining elements of separate wood parts of the furniture. In order to increase the endurance of the mortise and tenon joint and decorative qualities thereof as well as to simplify the assembling of wood parts of various configurations the mortise and tenon twig joint comprises a curved wood part 1 with tenon 2 and straight wood part 3 with semicircular mortise 4, moreover, both the curved wood part 1 and straight wood part 3 have mutually parallel grain 5 and the configuration of tenon 2 coincides with that of mortise 4. When assembling the joint tenon 2 is inserted into mortise 4. Due to the parallel wood grain 5 of tenon 2 and mortise 4, deformations of the grain 5 in mortise 4 correspond to deformations of the grain 5 in tenon 2. As a result there is no strain of the glue joint, thus the joint does not become loose. |
