PORTABLE NAVIGATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the display of a map and route and the display of mark information in a proper guide point by use of a small-sized portable terminal. SOLUTION: This portable navigation device for displaying the map on the screen of a portable terminal by the communication with the portable terminal to guide the route comprises the portable terminal 3 equipped with ten keys, display means and communication control means, and a center 1 for communicating with the portable terminal 3. The center 1 comprises memory means 6 for storing map data; route retrieving means 9 for retrieving the route between the present position and a designation on the basis of the map data stored in the memory means; number imparting means for imparting a number to the guide point on the retrieved route; and display control means 10 for displaying the retrieved route on the map on the display means of the portable terminal 3 by communication and displaying an enlarged map of the guide point corresponding to the number inputted by the operation of the ten keys. Thus, the enlarged map including detailed information for the guide point can be displayed only by operating the ten keys.
