PURPOSE: A navigation system and a method thereof are provided, which provides a traveling path of the shortest time from a starting point to a destination point by considering a traffic condition. CONSTITUTION: A navigation apparatus(1) is installed in a vehicle, and a radio communication server(3) provides traffic condition information to the vehicle wireless from a traffic information broadcast station(5) generating traffic condition information. The navigation apparatus comprises a map CD(19) storing map information, a display part(17) receiving traffic condition information from the radio communication station and transmitting information as to a present position of the vehicle and a destination point, a GPS apparatus(20) to judge a present position of the vehicle and a path calculation part(13) calculating a required time as to each traveling path from the present position to the destination. And a control part(15) displays the shortest traveling path on the display part together with the map according to the required time of each traveling path.
