PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving sequentially a sense amplifier is provided to lower peak current according to a sensing operation and improve an operating speed by dividing plural sense amplifiers into plural sub groups. CONSTITUTION: A sense enable signal generator(21) is controlled by a word line enable signal. The sense enable signal generator(21) is used for generating a sense enable signal(SE) for performing a stable sensing operation. A plurality of delay portions(40,41) are connected with the sense enable signal generator(21) in order to delay an output signal of the sense enable signal generator(21). A plurality of sense amplifier activation signal generators(31,32,33) are connected with the sense enable signal generator(21) and the delay portions(41,42) in order to generate sequentially signals for activating sense amplifiers. A plurality of sense amplifier groups(50,51,52) are connected with the sense amplifier activation signal generators(31,32,33).
