PURPOSE: A wireless network system and a network address assigning method are provided to reduce traffic when network addresses are assigned to respective communication apparatuses comprising a tree-structure wireless network system. CONSTITUTION: The wireless network system includes a wireless relay terminal station unit(1), a wireless relay station unit(2-1) which is connected with the wireless relay terminal station unit(1) via an electric wave, and a wireless terminal unit(3-1) which is connected with the wireless relay station unit(2-1) via an electric wave. The wireless relay terminal station unit(1) keeps a plurality of network addresses which are to be assigned to the wireless relay station unit(2-1) and the wireless terminal unit(3-1), assigns the first network address belonging to the plurality of network addresses to the wireless relay station unit(2-1), and gives an address pool of a part of the plurality of network addresses collectively to the wireless relay station unit(2-1). The wireless relay station unit(2-1) keeps the address pool and assigns the second network address belonging to the address pool to the wireless terminal unit(3-1). The wireless relay terminal station unit(1) does not assign the network addresses directly to the wireless terminal unit(3-1).
