PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head selector in a magnetic reading device, of which the cost can be reduced and the reliability can be improved. SOLUTION: This head selector is characterized by being furnished with plural analog switches 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, to which the output signals of magnetic head elements corresponding to the same track among the plural magnetic head elements RH11-RH44 of respective magnetic heads are inputted, a head discriminating circuit 5000 for detecting signals from each of the plural magnetic heads on the basis of output signals of the plural analog switches 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 at the time of starting the transportation of a magnetic card and discriminating the magnetic head abutted on a magnetic recording part 2, and a digital changeover instructing circuit 6000 transmitting a signal for making only the magnetic head which is discriminated by the head discriminating circuit 5000 after the start of transportation of the magnetic card, to be readable condition.
