The invention relates to a method for producing highly branched ethylene polymers. Said method is characterised in that ethylene is polymerised by means of a catalyst system containing a compound of formula (Ia) or (Ib) and an activator. The inventive method is carried out at a temperature of between 40 and 110 DEG C and at a pressure of between 10 and 100 bar.
