PURPOSE: A method for verifying a telephone outside plant database is provided to check the continuity of a cable, to selectively extract the details of a telephone outside plant according to necessary work, and to verify error data. CONSTITUTION: A user locates a drawing to extract at an associated directory, installs a relevant program, and sets up a basic environment for a TOMS(Telephone Outside Management System)(201). In order to create basic data, the user defines facility information to extract and makes out a desired source file(202). A CPU selectively searches for the data of a specific section at the source file and produces one consecutive data(203). If error data, discontinuous, are extracted, the CPU displays the extracted data(204). If the user selectively appoints a desired section and data, the CPU selectively creates a file showing the distance and route between a telephone office and the appointed section(205) and outputs files by sections(206).
