DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DUALLY CONTROLLING MICROCONTROLLER OF RTU

PURPOSE: A device and a method for dually controlling a microcontroller of RTU(Remote terminal Unit) are provided to automatically switch all functions of a main microcontroller to a sub microcontroller by making the sub microcontroller recognize the operation state of the main microcontroller in case of occurring a trouble in the main microcontroller. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a priority determining device discriminating a priority for the operation of a main or sub microcontroller according to the position being mounted on a back plane of system, the latches(L2,L12) supplying an operation signal to an input/output control discriminator by a chip select signal after receiving the operation signal from a system bus, the input/output discriminators(IC-ACC1,IC-ACC11) crossly outputting the signal from the latch to an input port(E1,E11) of each counting microcontroller(CPU1,CPU2), the feedback devices(A1,A11) monitoring the busy state of microcontroller by storing the output value from the latch so as to feed back the signal provided from the input/output control discriminator, an operation monitor(A2,A21) enabling two microcontrollers to monitor the operation of counting microcontroller, and a reset device initializing the microcontroller system by resetting the latch by occurring a reset signal in case of occurring a trouble.
