MICROFINE PARTICULATE IRON OXIDE PIGMENT SLURRY, METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME, METHOD OF FORMING RED FILTER AND COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a slurry of microfine particulate iron oxide red pigment that has no anxiety of discoloration of the black matrix, even when the red filter provided between the phosphor layer and the panel on the color cathode ray tube comes into contact with the black matrix under the production process conditions for a color cathode ray tube that is required to have high-temperature heat resistance. SOLUTION: The microfine particulate iron oxide pigment slurry is obtained by adding sodium silicate to microfine particulate iron oxide red pigment slurry. The amount of the sodium silicate added is characteristically in the range of 5.0-20.0 wt.% per 100 wt.% of the iron oxide red pigment.
