PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic carboxylic acid, comprising oxidizing an aromatic hydrocarbon having one or more substituents in a liquid phase, separating crystals from the slurry of the reaction solution slurry separated from the oxidation reactor, and effectively recycling catalyst components contained in the obtained oxidation reaction mother liquid, by which the aromatic carboxylic acid having a high quality can profitably be produced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the aromatic carboxylic acid, characterized by bringing a part of all parts of the oxidation reaction mother liquid into contact with an anion exchanger to separate organic impurities and then returning the treated mother liquid to the oxidation reactor. |
