PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing and freshness keeping device, which has high performance and does not require maintenance, combining a cold cathode- ray tube light emitting device for providing the stable ultraviolet light output of low temperature and a long service life with a photocatalyst material and adsorbent powder. SOLUTION: This deodorizing and freshness keeping device is provided with the cold cathode-ray tube light emitting device for radiating ultraviolet light and a cold air circulating route having a filter prepared by using a ceramic fiber, with which the photocatalyst powder is formed on the surface, and on the surface of a cold cathode-ray tube bulb in the cold cathode-ray tube light emitting device, a transparent conductive film and a pair of linear electrodes are provided.
