PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which prevents the alteration of contents of a printed matter and, at the same time, confirms the uniqueness thereof. SOLUTION: This printed matter verification information addition device which provides printing paper with an ID function scans the printed information of the printed matter to be verified, transfers and compresses the same to electronic data, thereafter, performs the ciphering the data with a cryptographic key corresponding to the ID information of the paper and adds the information to the printed matter as the verification information. A printed matter verifying device scans the printed information of the printed matter to be verified by the same step with the printed matter verification information addition device, transfers and compresses the same to the electronic data, thereafter, decodes the verification information with a decoding key corresponding to the ID information, compares the decoded information with the data after compression, determines whether the decoded information coincides with the data after compression or not and performs the verification of the alteration and the uniqueness of information of the printed matter. |
