PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reinforcing structure for an outer frame member of a sliding door device making the outer frame member easy to handle by increasing the flexural strength of the outer frame member that forms an opening opened/ closed by the movement of a sliding door body. SOLUTION: A transom 2 in which a moving mechanism of the sliding door body 1 is enclosed, is the outer frame member that forms the opening opened/ closed by the movement of the sliding door body 1. A transom body 2A of the transom 2 is detachably fitted with a cover 2B. Recessed parts 53, 59 for increasing flexural strength are formed at the transom body 2A and cover 2, and display members 54, 60 with contents related to the sliding door device, displayed on the surface, are arranged in the recessed parts 53, 59.
