PURPOSE: Provided is a photopolymerizable composition for a color filter, which has high sensitivity, and excellent development property and storage stability, and is useful for forming color filter picture elements having excellent solvent resistance. CONSTITUTION: The photopolymerizable composition for a color filter comprises: (a) a compound having at least one ethylenically unsaturated double bond; (b) a photopolymerization initiator containing a titanocene compound; and (c) a red, green or blue colorant, wherein the content of component (a) and that of component (b) are 20-90 wt% and 0.1-40 wt%, respectively, based on the total solid content except for the colorant, and the content of component (c) is 20-80 wt% based on the total solid content. The photopolymerizable composition has an optical density of at least 1.1, when formed into a coating film having a dried film thickness of at most 1 micrometer.
