摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamable resin particle enabling to make a foamed molding with good foamability and appearance and having farther excellent mechanical strength than the foamed polystyrene, and to provide a foamed molding obtained by using it. SOLUTION: This foamable acrylonitrile-styrene resin particle is made by infiltrating a foaming agent in an amount of 3 to 15 wt.% to the monomer component into a resin particle obtained by suspension polymerization of a mixture containing 10 to 50 wt.% of acrylonitrile and 50 to 90 wt.% of styrene in the existence of n-octylmercaptan as a chain transfer agent, where the weight average molecular weight (Mw) obtained by gel permeation chromatography as polystyrene is 300,000 to 700,000, and the ratio of weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) is 3.0 to 10.0. This foamed acrylonitrile-styrene resin molding is obtained using the resin particle.
