PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for controlling high-speed data communication, through which numerous high-speed data can be made to be transmitted efficiently. SOLUTION: A concentrator 110 is constituted to accommodate an indoor radio base station 112 of a PHS and control a plurality of radio base stations 112 of the PHS by switching a time switch 114, which switches call channels on a time-division basis. When, for example, a radio terminal conducts communication of 64-kbps data with a public network, the 62-kbps data are transmitted to the control section 113 of the concentrator 110 in two 32-kbps slots through the radio base station 112 and further transmitted to the data assembling/ disassembling section 115 of the concentrator 110, by means of the time switch 114 for reassembling the data into 64-kbps data.
