PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic transfer sheet in which image defects such as so-called blisters can be prevented and color images of high picture quality with excellent gloss and little level difference on the image can be formed even when a base body having extremely poor air permeability such as printing paper produced by coating both surfaces of a base material with polyethylene films or the like is used, and to provide a color image forming apparatus which uses the above sheet. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic transfer sheet having an image accepting layer containing thermoplastic resin as the main component and formed on one surface of a base body having coating layers made of synthetic resin on both surfaces, the sheet has such a structure to increase the air permeability through the back face opposite to the image accepting layer side of the transfer sheet.
