PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for a microscope, capable of dispensing with the alignment operation of the luminescent spot of a lamp at exchanging or purchasing of the lamp, realizing the improvement of operability and readily fully extracting various kinds of illumination performance. SOLUTION: A position-adjusting mechanism 7 is constituted of an adjusting washer 13, a fixing machine screw 8 and the fixing machine screw insertion hole 14c of a light source side positioning member 14. The relation between the hole 14c and the machine screw 8 is set to be movably inserted condition. By setting a light source fixed member 12, where a light source 11 is fixed in a position adjusting jig in a state where it is attached to the member 14, a direction (x) (screw direction of the machine screw 8) is adjusted by adjusting the space of the washer 13, and directions (y) and (z) are set, so that the luminescent spot of the light source 11 is arranged at an optimum position, by positionally deviating the machine screw 8 with respect to the center of the hole 14c.
