PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the shortage or depletion of a lubricant in a reduction and reverse machine of a ship even if malfunction occurs in an operating oil pressure governor valve. SOLUTION: An operating oil passage ranging from a discharge portion of an operating oil pump 3 via a forwarding/reversing gear change valve 13 to forwarding and reversing clutches 1, 2 in a changeable manner and a lubricant passage branching from the operating oil passage via the operating oil pressure governor valve 17 for supplying an operating oil as a lubricant to a lubricated point. An escape oil passage 21 for a safety valve 16 connected to the operating oil passage is connected to the lubricant passage. When malfunction occurs in the operating oil pressure governor valve 17 the operating oil escaping from the safety valve 16 is used as the lubricant.
