PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape reel assembly structure formed so as to reduce the swinging and the wear of a hub. SOLUTION: A data storage tape cartridge 10 includes a housing, a tape reel pin, a tape reel assembly structure 30 and a storage tape 42. The tape reel assembly structure 30 is rotatably connected to the tape reel pin and includes a hub and an inserted article. The inserted article provides a non-flat thrust surface and a journal bearing surface. In a preferred embodiment, the inserted article is a sleeve for forming the thrust surface and the journal bearing surface. In another preferred embodiment, the inserted article includes a spherical piece for forming the thrust surface and a sleeve for forming the journal bearing surface. In this preferable constitution, the spherical piece and the sleeve are formed by insertion into the hub.
