PURPOSE: A piston of a diesel engine is provided to improve the efficiency of combustion by inducing the generation of a strong swirl to a combustion chamber through a swirl guide groove formed in the piston head. CONSTITUTION: A piston(30) of a diesel engine is composed of a piston head(32) formed in the upper part of the piston; a combustion chamber(34) formed with a predetermined groove on the one face of the piston head and burning a mixed gas; and a swirl guide groove(36) formed on the peripheral face of the combustion chamber, formed with an inclined groove, and guiding the mixed gas in the outside of the combustion chamber into the inside of the combustion chamber.
