PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spin bulb thin film magnetic element having a good output characteristic and capable of preventing side reading, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This spin bulb thin film magnetic element 1 is provided with a laminated body 12 having nonmagnetic conductive coatings 6 and 8, fixed magnetic layers 5 and 9, and antiferromagnetic layers 4 and 10 laminated in both sides of the thickness direction of a free magnetic layer 7 and formed on a substrate 364, bias layers 32, and lead layers 34 in both sides of the track width direction of the laminated body 12. At least, the width of the track width direction of the antiferromagnetic layer 10 separated from the substrate 364 is set narrower than the free magnetic layer 7. Both sides of the track width direction of the narrow antiferromagnetic layer 10 are set as the lead connecting parts 40 of the laminated body 12. The lead layers 34 are extended to the center of the laminated body 12 from both sides of the track width direction of the laminated body 12, and connected to the laminating body 12 by the lead connecting parts 40. |
