TWO-LAYER PROTOCOL TRANSFER EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce management load of a network manager and ensure higher network security as compared to the conventional system. SOLUTION: This transfer equipment is provided with plural ports for connecting communications equipment; a first storage means for storing correspondence of each port to a two-layer address of the communications equipment connected with the ports; a second storage means for storing couples of a three- layer address of a router and the two-layer address; and a means which performs (a) responding with the previously registered two-layer address of the router instead, concerning address solution requirement to the router from a terminal by address solution protocol, and (b) using the filtering function in the router by permitting all communications and performing the communications with a three-layer protocol between all terminals through the router, concerning the communications by the two-layer protocol toward terminals from the router.
