PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication system in which a variety of user's needs can be dealt with without troubling a server manager and operability of the user can be enhanced by performing the compositing operation in a digital camera. SOLUTION: A center 2 having an image storing section 21 is connected with a digital camera 5 through internet. The center 2 receives open images, which can be provided to users other than the image owner, from a plurality of users through the Internet and stores received images at the image storing section 21. When a composited image is picked up, the digital camera 5 requests the center 2 to transfer an open image and utilizes a transferred image for compositing.
