<p>Formula (I) A traceless solid-phase synthesis of 2-imidazolones is described. A polymer-bound haloacetaldehyde acetal, which is prepared from an acetal exchange of haloacetaldehyde diethyl acetal with polymer-bound 1,2-ethylenediol, is reacted with a primary amine of the formula R1NH2 to afford a polymer-bound aminoacetaldehyde acetal. The latter is reacted with an isocyanate of the formula R2NCO to afford the corresponding polymer-bound urea acetal intermediate, which upon treatment with an acid provides the 2-imidazolone compounds.</p> |
