AUTOMATIC GUIDANCE APPARATUS USING GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM(GPS)

PURPOSE: An automatic guidance apparatus using global positioning system(gps) is provided to automatically search a vehicle position even though a satellite signal is not received instantly. CONSTITUTION: In the device, a GPS receiver(110) receives a signal from a GPS satellite, and a coordinates extraction part(120) extracts coordinates from the received signal. A coordinates estimation and calculation part(130) estimates and calculates the coordinates using a running distance and course information when the coordinates are not extracted by the extraction part(120). A coordinates selection part(140) selects one from the coordinates and the estimated coordinates as coordinates of a current position. A guidance information storing part(163) stores guidance information corresponding to coordinates. A coordinates comparison and selection part(150) compares the selected coordinates with the stored coordinates, and selects the coordinates when the two coordinates are identical to each other. A guidance information extraction part(160) extracts the guidance information stored in the storing part(163) based on the coordinates selected by the coordinates comparison and selection part(150). A reproduction part(170) reproduces the guidance information extracted by the guidance information extraction part(160). A voice output part(180) converts the reproduced guidance information into a voice.
