PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out writing and erasing against pixels properly, even when the image display capacity of an antiferroelectricity liquid crystal display is enlarged. SOLUTION: The antiferroelectricity liquid crystal display driving method carries out the writing and erasing against plural pixels comprised of antiferroelectricity liquid crystal by applying signal voltage selectively on plural signal electrodes 14, while switching plural scanning electrodes 15 of antiferroelectricity liquid crystal display A by the specified number which adopts simple matrix driving method, to selection mode, non-selection mode, and erasing mode according to a fixed order. The erasing mode period of each scanning electrode 15 is the period during which plural scanning electrodes 15, that are different from the scan electrode 15 set in the erasing mode, are set as selection mode one by one.
