PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding monitoring method for rapidly detecting the occurrence of a defect and nonconformity every welding path by ultrasonic flaw detection even during welding work to easily correct welding conditions and to make welding repair prior to shifting to the following welding path. SOLUTION: In this welding monitoring method allowing constant monitoring on the welded state of a weld part during welding work, ultrasonic flow detection is carried out every welding path by a pair of transmitting-receiving probes 7, 8 opposedly arranged on the surfaces of base materials 9, 11 with a groove 11 part to be welded, held in between. In the case of the occurrence of nonconformity, welding conditions are corrected, and in the case of detecting the occurrence of the defect in the weld part, it is fed back to allow repair welding.
