摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a smelting reduction furnace by which the operation causing no cooling in the furnace bottom and tuyere erosion, can be performed by changing the utilization of molten material temperature at a lower step tuyere level being an estimated value in the conventional method so as to use a control index for more stabilizing the operation in comparison with the conventional method. SOLUTION: In the method for operating the smelting reduction furnace for producing molten metal by injecting powder and granular metallic oxide- containing raw material from a tuyere into the smelting reduction furnace, in which carbon-base solid reducer is packed and the tuyeres arranged in at least vertically two steps are provided for injecting hot air to the packed layer, the temperature of a raceway formed at the front part of the lowermost tuyere, is measured. Then, one or more kinds selected from among a blasting temperature, a blasting quantity, an oxygen concentration in the blasting, a moisture content in the blasting and an injecting quantity of the metallic oxide-containing raw material, are adjusted so that the measured temperature of the raceway falls within in a target range.
