The device for clamping together a CPU (4) between a cooling module and a socket to ensure good heat transfer between the CPU and the block uses a flexible clip (1) with two parallel arms (11) in a shallow V-shape to clip between the fins of the cooling block and with shaped ends (12,13) to clip into retaining profiles on the edges of the socket. Additional smaller clips (2) are fitted under the main clip with a clip fastening to a crossbar (14) joining the main grips. The smaller clips have splayed ends to provide an even pressure to press the cooling module onto the CPU.
