PURPOSE: A control method for an adjusting element having hysteresis and a device thereof are provided to improve traveling stability by eliminating hysteresis and preventing vibration with regulating valves. CONSTITUTION: A control device(10) has an input circuit(12), a microcomputer(14), and an output circuit(16). Elements are connected to a communication system(18). Input lines(20-24) are provided to the input circuit, and values are transmitted from measuring devices(26-30) by the input line. The values are evaluated for carrying out the control tasks or regulation tasks of a control unit(10). The control unit connected to an output line(32) drives at least one hysteresis-exhibiting final controlling element(34) such as a valve. The control variable for the final controlling element is corrected according to time change, and the modified value is limited to the variable.
