PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair which can be folded compactly and is easy to handle by making a footrest turnable and changing the angle of a foot plate properly in order to solve problems existing in a conventional wheelchair. SOLUTION: In the footrest structure 100 of the wheelchair having folding mechanism and provided with a pair of front frames 11 formed at a wheelchair main body 200, a footrest support 15 which is disposed so as to be hung between the front frames and can be folded nearly at its intermediate and a foot plate 13 provided with the support 15 in a turnable manner, both of the ends of the support 15 are connected via freely turnable parts 14 which is turnable in the direction vertical to the axial direction of the frames 11.
