PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a magnetic material flow meter, which is excellent to apply for a magnetic separation device for cleaning, and the operation method in the case of changing the concentration of a material to be removed in raw water or the concentration of magnetic powder in a magnetic material slurry in the magnetic material flow meter. SOLUTION: The feed quantity of the magnetic powder is measured online and in the case that the concentration of the material to be removed in the raw water is changed, the optimum feed quantity of the magnetic powder is controlled corresponding to the change of the concentration to save the quantity of a chemical. For the purpose, this magnetic material flow meter is provided with a magnetic flux generation device for generating magnetic flux facing the flow passage of the magnetic material slurry and crossing the flow passage and a magnetic flux measuring device for the magnetic flux crossing the flow passage. In the case that the concentration of the material to be removed is changed, the proper feed quantity of the magnetic powder is controlled even when the concentration of magnetic powder in the magnetic material slurry is changed, the feed quantity of the chemical such as a flocculating agent is controlled and saved and the operation cost is reduced to the optimum value. |
