PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a renting device which can prevent a rental duplicate from illegally being used. SOLUTION: A master photograph duplicate film stored in a film photograph storage part 9 is converted into master image data by a digital data production part 8 and the data are stored in a digital data storage part 6 together with specific information added as an electronic watermark by a watermark addition part 7. When a rent request is inputted from a user terminal 4 to a reception part 3, the reception part 3 examines the rent request; when the request is accepted, the rent request and specific information are related and registered in a database part 2 and a rent indication S35 is outputted to a rent part 5. Copy image data corresponding to the rent indication are inputted from the digital image data storage part 6 to the rent part 5 and converted to a specific medium, which is rented to the renting user. The specific information is information determined uniquely to the duplicate, so the renting person can be specified from the duplicate to prevent the duplicate from illegally being used.
