PURPOSE: A rake receiving apparatus of a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to reduce a size of an FIFO(first in first out) memory by differing a timing control time point to offset a multipath delay effect between fingers. CONSTITUTION: The first delay unit(515) delays an f1_pn_roll signal outputted from a timing reference generator(511) as long as an Mzx_Ret, the maximum delay allowable range of a finger, and outputs an f1_pn_foll_d delayed as long as Max_Ret. Other fingers than the reference finger also delay each fn_pn_roll signal as long as a corresponding Max_Ret and output fn_pn_roll_d. The second combiner(250) receives the fn_pn_roll_d signal, adjusts a timing on the basis of a timing of a finger considered to be the strongest path among the fn_pn_roll_d signals, generates and outputs a com_pn_roll 1 signal, and generates and outputs a com_sym_size indicating a symbol size. The com_pn_roll 1 signal is generated only for the delay of the Max_Ret. The com_pn_roll 1 signal is inputted to the second delay unit(570) and the third delay unit(580). The second delay unit(570) receives the com_pn_roll 1 signal and delays it as long as Pros_D1 and uses it as a timing control reference signal of the second combiner(250). |
