The invention relates to a method for more accurate control or adjustment of the transmitting power in a mobile radio system. If the transmitting power is limited to a maximum threshold value (Pmax) or a minimum threshold value (Pmin), the transmitting power value which actually corresponds to the modified gain factors is determined and taken into account when adjusting transmitting power. This is especially the case when said transmitting power falls short of the maximum threshold value (Pmax) once again or exceeds the minimum threshold value (Pmin).
