PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrification electrophotographic photoreceptor which has little dependence on the environment, excellent sensitivity and potential stability, which does not cause decrease in the sensitivity or deterioration in the electrification potential even when images are repeatedly formed for a long time, which has good adhesion property with a supporting body or a photosensitive layer and which does not cause peeling of films, and to provide a method for forming images, a device for image formation and process cartridge. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having an intermediate layer and a charge generating layer containing a charge generating substance, a charge transfer substance and a binder resin on a conductive supporting body, a perylene blend pigment having one or more metal atoms is used as the charge generating substance and the intermediate layer essentially comprises polyvinylbutyral and a hole transfer substance.
