PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten communication time by sending an error frame again on a control channel when it can be judged that it is speedier to send the error frame on the control channel, and to surely perform communication while using the control channel when an error is to frequently occur on a primary channel. SOLUTION: This facsimile equipment is provided with a control part 10 equipped with a means capable of transmitting/receiving picture information data not only on the primary channel but also on the control channel by the extended T.30 standard, a modem part 20 equipped with a means for reporting a parameter under communication to the control part 10, and a line connecting interface part 25 for connecting the modem part 20 and a line 26. Memories 12 and 22 of the control part 10 and the modem part 20 store a program for transmitting the picture information data on the control channel by the extended T.30 standard and a program for transmitting the picture information data on the primary channel on the basis of the V.34 standard.
