PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electric field light emitting device in which deterioration of light emitting property is prevented and which is superior in display property by moderately oxidizing/insulating a short circuit part by a simpler method. SOLUTION: In the organic electric field light emitting device wherein a laminated body which includes a thin film layer containing a light emitting layer composed of at least an organic compound and which includes the second electrode formed on the thin layer is sealed by a sealant on the first electrode formed on a substrate, oxygen exceeding 20% and not more than 50% and inert gas exist in the inside of the sealed space.
